Hotel Bern Tallinn, Estonia Review

During my visit to Tallinn, Estonia, I stayed at the Hotel Bern. The hotel is located right on the edge of the historic city center of the city, making it a convenient place to stay.
The Hotel Bern was easy to find. If you reach the pedestrian areas, you’ve gone too far. There are plenty of restaurants right nearby, as well as a supermarket right across the street. There’s even a beer garden right next door. Of course, there are even more bars & restaurants further into the old town.
The hotel lobby also has a small bar.
As for the hotel itself, it’s fine. At around $40 USD per night, it was a great deal. The furnishings are a bit worn out, but when you’re paying so little for a room, you can be a bit more forgiving on that front. It was quiet, there was a bed, and there was Wifi. I don’t need much more than that when I’m traveling, since I don’t plan on being in the room very much.
One word to describe the theme of my room’s decor: red.
There’s also a minibar in the room, along with slippers & a robe.
The bathroom was a little odd, in that the shower drain was essentially in the middle of the floor. There was a squeegee available in the corner so you could dry off the floor after showering, but it still made for a bit of a mess.
The room rate also includes breakfast each morning. The selection can be a bit sporadic depending upon when you arrive to the breakfast room in the hotel basement, but there is generally a selection of meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, fruit, bread, and pastries. The farmer cheese tart was particularly tasty.
The Hotel Bern might not be a 5-star hotel, but the price and location in Tallinn can’t be beat.
