Avondale, Arizona is a West Valley suburb of Phoenix. It’s mostly farmland & cookie-cutter housing communities, but it’s most famously known as the home of Phoenix Raceway. The track holds 2 NASCAR races a year, including the Championship, as well as many other notable racing events. As with most Phoenix suburbs (like nearby Goodyear & Litchfield Park), there’s not a ton going on, however, there are a few good places for craft beer in Avondale, including a brewery & beer bars
The Best Breweries in Avondale, Arizona
8-Bit Aleworks
As you might surmise from the name, 8-Bit Aleworks is a video game-themed brewery.
But that’s not just a quick gimmick. Owners Ryan and Krystina Whitten are two passionate gamers & brewers who are fully committed to a brewery experience that merges the worlds of video games and craft beer.
Inside, you’ll find arcade games, as well as gaming consoles. Haven’t played NES or Super Nintendo in a while? 8-bit is the place to go.
Want to stick with something analog? There’s also an array of card games and board games available, with plenty of tables to play them on.

On Black Friday, 8-Bit Aleworks hosts a tap takeover featuring varieties of their Black Mage stout, each with different flavors. Get there early in the morning for the best selection.
You can bring your own food, or there’s a small selection of snacks including paninis and soft pretzels.
Outside, there’s a patio with views of the surrounding industrial park that 8-Bit Aleworks is located in. It’s a setting that allows them to have plenty of space.

The Best Craft Beer Bars in Avondale, Arizona
Tap2 Craft Beer & Wine Lounge
Tap2 Craft Beer & Wine Lounge (website) opened in September 2022. It has the same owners as Tap Savvy in Litchfield Park. The City of Avondale wanted a similar excellent beer bar in their city. It’s a brighter spot than its counterpart, though there’s no outside patio.
There are 20 taps of craft beer plus a fridge full of cans at Tap2. The family-run bar also serves wine, of course. There’s mead from Scale & Feather too. Service is friendly, whether you know beer or not, they are welcoming to those who are newer to craft beer.
The Avondale sports bar has a kitchen, plus a few TVs. The stereo leans towards 90s & 00s music that everyone knows, such as Blink-182, Weezer, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and The Killers.

Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse
Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse (website) is a regional pizza & sports bar chain with tons of space, happy hour deals, and a massive tap list.
The sports bar has 80 taps of beer including house beers from Epic. Not all of the beer is craft beer, but a good amount is.
In addition to lots of big TVs showing whatever sports you can think of, there’s also a ton of seating, making Parry’s a good place for groups.
There are food & drink deals for happy hour. The food menu includes New York-style pizzas, calzones, wings, pasta, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, desserts, and more.

Given the area’s rapid population growth, I’m sure there will be more beer bars & breweries in Avondale in the coming years.
