Litchfield Park, Arizona is a West Valley suburb of Phoenix that first started as a planned community for Goodyear, who farmed cotton in the area for use in tires. Litchfield Park is one of the smaller Phoenix suburbs, but it has a few places of note. Most famous is The Wigwam resort, which has been a destination for golf, tennis, and sun lovers since 1929. Litchfield Park is also located near Luke Air Force Base. The Los Angeles Dodgers & Chicago White Sox play Spring Training games close by at Camelback Ranch in Glendale. It’s also home to the Wildlife World Zoo. Despite being a pretty small city, Litchfield Park has a few nice places to drink craft beer. Here are the best places for craft beer in Litchfield Park, including a brewery, beer bars, taprooms, and bottle shops.
The Best Breweries in Litchfield Park
Transplant City Beer Company
Transplant City Beer Company is a fantastic nano-brewery located in an old building in historic downtown Litchfield Park. In addition to their brick-walled indoor space, which is covered in music-themed paintings from local artist Robert Hope, there’s also a huge outside patio with plenty of shade.
The brewery’s name comes from the fact that they are transplants to Arizona, just like almost everyone else. Owners Justin “Beerdo” Egbert and Paul Power are from San Diego & Idaho respectively. They bonded over a mutual love of hockey & beer. After beginning to brew first as “BeerdOPower”, they settled upon Transplant City Beer Company for their brewery name once they opened their Litchfield Park space.
As you’d expect from a small local brewery, TCBC does a great job of creating unique small-batch beers, which frequently rotate through their 16 taps (flights available). Most of the taps are TCBC beer, though you’ll also find a couple of guest options. In addition to the beer, there are beer cocktails such as “Beerdmosas”, “Litcheladas”, and shandies available.
If you’re looking for beers with great pun names, TCBC has you covered, with beers such as Gene Persimmons (a stout with persimmons) & oREO Speedwagon (a chocolate stout) having two standout names.

The Best Craft Beer Bars in Litchfield Park
Ground Control Craft Food & Drink
Ground Control has a great selection of craft beer, with 27 taps (plus cans & bottles), including lots of local Arizona breweries such as Wren House, Tombstone, Smelter Town, Dark Sky, and Borderlands. The airy building has walls covered in beer signs, as well as TVs and an outside patio.
The craft beer bar first opened in Goodyear in 2007, then moved to Litchfield Park in 2012. Although the bar underwent an ownership change in 2019, Ground Control remains a local favorite, serving up not just great craft beer & wine, but also excellent food. It has been named Readers’ Choice Best Taproom by Phoenix Magazine’s Best of the Valley for 3 years straight.
The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is a popular favorite at Ground Control, as is their wood-fired pizza. They also have burgers, sandwiches, and salads. A lot of taprooms might mail in something as simple as a chicken caesar salad, but I found theirs to be excellently seasoned & fresh, the perfect light meal on a warm day.
In addition to the beer & food, there’s also a coffee shop in front, featuring locally roasted beans.

Tap Savvy
Open since 2019, Tap Savvy is the perfect name for this Litchfield Park beer bar & bottle shop, since they know their beer (and wine).
As is often the case in Arizona, Tap Savvy is in a strip mall next to a grocery store, but inside, it’s beer heaven.
They have 24 taps of craft beer, plus a fantastic local can & bottle selection that is also available to go. There is also a nice selection of wine. Stay inside & make some new friends or play a board game, or sit out front on the nice patio & watch people on their way to dentist appointments while you sip your beer.
The food menu is simple (paninis, quesadillas, and on weekends, nachos), but that’s all you really need in life. The same family also owns a similar craft beer bar in Avondale.
Address: 13000 W Indian School Rd suite a-6, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340 (map)
