The day trip town of Sausalito near San Francisco has lots of great bars and restaurants. While the local wine and craft beer offerings are not to be missed, there are also several great cocktail bars in Sausalito. Here are my favorite places for cocktails in Sausalito, ranging from local dive bars to more upscale cocktail bars.
Sausalito Cocktail Bars & Restaurants
Barrel House Tavern
Barrel House Tavern is one of the most popular bars in Sausalito. It’s a big place that offers something for everyone, including cocktails, wine, and craft beer.
The main upstairs room has a long bar and an outside patio with excellent views of San Francisco Bay.

In addition to a vast spirits selection, Barrel House Tavern offers in-house barrel-aged Manhattans and Old Fashioneds.

They have great happy hour deals, which include well cocktails and a cocktail of the day, making it an excellent place for day drinking.
Book your hotel in San Francisco Bay Area now!I enjoyed a Manhattan along with the seasonal ceviche.

Hanson of Sonoma Tasting Room at Hanson Gallery
Hanson of Sonoma Tasting Room at Hanson Gallery is one of the more unique places to visit for cocktails in Sausalito.
It’s an art gallery and the tasting room of a Sonoma distillery specializing in organic vodka made from grapes. A bar at the front of the gallery acts as a welcoming beacon to the space.

The Hanson of Sonoma tasting room in Sausalito offers tasting flights and house cocktails. It also serves snacks such as oysters, caviar, cheese, and charcuterie.

Since I love mango, I opted for the Mango Tango from the list of house cocktails. It was made with habanero vodka, lime, mango puree, agave, and tajin.

Farley Bar
Farley Bar is located in the former U.S. Army base Fort Baker, just south of downtown Sausalito. Today, the former base has been repurposed as a recreation area.

Cavallo Point is a luxury hotel in the center of the base. It’s a popular place for relaxing weekend getaways just across the water from San Francisco. Farley Bar is the hotel’s bar. It shares space with Sula restaurant.
While there is indoor space, the most popular place for eating and drinking is the long patio at the front of the building. This patio has fantastic views of the Golden Gate. Couple that with the excellent Bay weather, signature cocktails, craft beer, and food from Sula, and it’s a great place to hang out.

I enjoyed the Early Girl (an Old-fashioned made with Earl Grey-infused Sazerac rye, St. Elizabeth allspice dram, and bitter girl bitters), along with ahi tuna poke.

Copita Tequileria y Comida
Copita Tequileria Y Comida is an excellent Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar in Sausalito.
The food is delicious. The menu, which is 100% gluten-free, plus local and organic, includes small plates such as ceviche and tacos, along with larger dishes.

But you’re here for cocktails. Copita has a great selection of tequila and mezcal cocktails, plus sangria. There’s a big tequila and mezcal list as well. There are even some zero-proof drinks.
Located along the bustling Bridgeway, I especially love the outside patio, which is a great place to sit with a cocktail and watch tourists.

Saylor’s Restaurant & Bar
Saylor’s Restaurant & Bar is another popular Sausalito Mexican restaurant and local watering hole located near the Bay Model Visitor Center. It bills itself as “A taste of Cabo in Marin!” One half of the building is the restaurant, while the other is a bar area with a couple of TVs showing sports.
The house cocktail specialty here is the margarita, which has several options. I opted for the organic margarita.

I had planned on visiting Saylor’s for dessert, but I never actually made it that far once the free warm chips and salsa were put down in front of me.
Once you’ve enjoyed your cocktails, be sure also to check out the restroom, which features some amusing signs, many of which are tequila-themed.

No Name Bar
Every town needs a bar that’s popular with locals and tourists alike. No Name Bar is one of those Sausalito bars. It has been open since 1959, a fact reinforced by the wifi password.

No Name Bar is open all day. It has well-worn floors, a wood bar, a back patio, and a few TVs for sports. The beloved spot comes alive at night with live music.

During the afternoons, it’s a nice place to stop in for an Irish coffee or another house cocktail and some conversation while listening to a mix of 70s and 80s music, such as Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac.
