I love Naples. Unlike some major Italian cities that are popular with tourists, it still manages to feel like a real place where people actually live. I especially enjoy the restaurants and bars in Naples’ Centro Storico. But the rest of the city also has some great places to drink. Here are my favorite cocktail bars in Naples, including speakeasies, local hangouts, and places specializing in quintessential Italian cocktails.
The Best Cocktail Bars in Naples
L’ Antiquario
Hidden behind an unassuming door just a couple of blocks from the sea is not just one of the best bars in Naples but one of the best in Europe. L’ Antiquario is a speakeasy-style bar that has appeared on the World’s 50 Best Bars list.
Reservations are highly recommended, though I had no issues visiting at the last minute on a weeknight.
Despite the speakeasy vibe, friendly house rules, and bartenders wearing white coats, L’ Antiquario isn’t stuffy at all. All of those things just serve to contribute to a sense of style.

Instead, it has a cozy lounge feel, with comfy velvet barstools and bottles on shelves and alcoves. The soundtrack includes R&B, soul, and blues.
Book your hotel in Naples now! There’s a seasonal cocktail list, plus lists of signature and classic cocktails. Of course, the bartenders can construct other drinks, too.
My first drink was the Portalba. The phenomenal drink was seemingly simple but included perfectly constructed flavors from Scotch whisky, Haitian rum, and carob honey.

My girlfriend enjoyed Il Faro, a port cocktail that was peachy but not overly sweet.
Since we’d just had dinner, I concluded with the Bus Stop, a wonderfully boozy dessert in a glass. It contained Cachaça, Whistle Pig Rye whiskey, amaretto cream, cocoa, and pistachio.
Tip: Before visiting L’ Antiquario, head to Antica Friggitoria La Masardona dal 1945, which is right around the corner. It’s one of the best pizza restaurants in Naples, specializing in fried pizza.

Ex Salumeria
Ex Salumeria is a fun rum bar in Naples’ Centro Storico.
There’s outside patio space, but we enjoyed sitting at the wood bar (with an aquarium filled with plants below) so we could chat with the bartenders and watch them work their magic.
We especially enjoyed smelling their mojito Napolitano as it was being made, with the scent of fresh basil filling the air.
The cocktail bar has a list of rum-focused house cocktails, but things get really interesting when you create your own.

Ex Salumeria specializes in infused rums, which are also available in bottles for sale. There are seven different options to select from. Then, level up your selected infused rum with one of their homemade syrups and shrubs. Choose whether you want it as a fizz, on the rocks, or strained, and you have a drink personalized to your taste.
I selected Ex Salumeria’s orange and cinnamon rum for my first drink. I then opted for pineapple syrup, with the cocktail served on the rocks. It was a delicious tropical combo.

My next drink I ordered was the honey rum with ginger syrup, served as a fizz… which we then realized was basically the same cocktail as their house mule, so I had that instead.
Between their creative infusions and fun atmosphere, Ex Salumeria is a cool hangout that’s one of my favorite Naples bars.

Flanagan’s Cocktail Bar – Napoli
Here’s one of my rules for life. If you’re heading to someplace new and want great bar and restaurant recommendations, ask a bartender. I’ve never been led wrong by people who are working in the industry.
Flanagan’s Cocktail Bar Napoli wasn’t on my radar until I met a bartender at Jerry Thomas in Rome who recommended it.
With cozy corners, a laid-back vibe, quirky design, and inventive cocktails, it’s the exact sort of bar that fellow bartenders flock to.
There are a few tables outside, but inside, it’s a snug corner cocktail bar that’s almost as tall as it is wide. The walls are covered in art and picture frames while bass-heavy cool music such as The Heavy, Bill Withers, The Black Keys, and Wyclef Jean fills the vertical space.

Other design touches include scattered skulls and cocktail-themed wallpaper including a straw with a mustache, which is also framed on the wall.
The drinks on the frequently changing lists of signature cocktails are especially inventive, but classic cocktails are also available.

I enjoyed the Mediterranean flavors of the Thank-See-Dee, while my girlfriend enjoyed the intense flavors of the spritz brûlée.

Archeobar – Negroneria Napoletana
If you ask someone what cocktail they most associate with Italy, there’s a good chance their first thought is the Negroni.
If you’re looking for the best negronis in Naples, look no further than Archeobar Negroneria Napoletana. A sign outside confirms that it’s The Home For Negroni Lovers.

While negronis are their specialty, they do also offer other signature cocktails and some Naples craft beer. But if you love a good Negroni, check out one of their negroni tasting menus to try various takes on the Italian cocktail.

While there’s a lounge with games upstairs, the outside tables are the place to be thanks to the constant flow of passersby through the Centro Storico.

Libreria Berisio
Is Libreria Berisio a bookstore or a cocktail bar? Yes.
This central Naples bar is located on Via Port’Alba, a street lined with bookshops.

Inside, you’ll find shelves of books and shelves of bottles. The bar itself is even painted like a bookshelf.
Libreria Berisio offers a huge list of cocktails. While the drinks aren’t particularly strong, they’re cheap.
As you might expect in a bar that also has books, there’s some jazz & mellow, upbeat music playing, picking up the tempo as the night goes on.

My first drink was the 514, named after a significant date for the bar owner. This is their signature house creation, with three varieties available. It was refreshing.
We also enjoyed the Sorrento, Banana Cow, and the Brontë.

Cammarota Spritz
There’s another cocktail bar in Naples that has even cheaper drinks. I’m not even sure if it technically qualifies as a cocktail bar since the drinks are so simple, but whatever the case, this spritz bar is a fun place.
Cammarota Spritz in the Naples Quartieri Spagnoli is famous for one thing: Cheap Aperol Spritzes. For just 1 Euro, you can get an Aperol Spritz.
They’re small, of course, but if you have the self-control to pace yourself and head there to hang out with friends, it’s possible to have a delightful evening for under 10 Euros. That’s the price of one fancy cocktail at another bar.

Unsurprisingly, the clientele is a mix of the student-aged and travelers who have come to check out the bright orange temple to Aperol. Lively crowds fill the alley patio space.
Service is quick since most people order an Aperol Spritz, though other drinks are available for similarly low prices (despite the main menu simply reading, “Spritz Spritz Spritz.”)

Most oddly, I spotted Tennent’s beer from Glasgow. This somehow felt right since Aperol Spritz reminds me a bit of the beloved Scottish beverage Irn Bru. The jovial atmosphere and cheap drinks at Cammarota Spritz also reminded me of my student days in Glasgow.
