Oaxaca International Airport is small, but it’s rapidly expanding its flight schedule as the city becomes a more popular tourist destination. Given OAX’s size, I was pleasantly surprised to still find an airport lounge, albeit a tiny one.
The Lounge At Oaxaca Airport Review
The Oaxaca Airport Lounge can be accessed through Priority Pass, Diners Club International, Lounge Key, and Lounge Pass. Day passes are also available. It’s operated by Global Lounge Network.
The Lounge at Oaxaca Airport is located pre-security. Given that it’s actually located past the security entrance, most people don’t even seem to know it’s there. There is a desk down on the main level, but when I visited, it wasn’t staffed. The lounge itself is located upstairs, above some of the rental car kiosks.

While I’m usually reluctant to visit an airport lounge that’s before security, the small size of Oaxaca Airport means that getting through security is quick.
Oaxaca Airport Lounge Amenities
The Lounge at Oaxaca Airport is the smallest airport lounge I’ve ever seen. However, it manages to pack in a decent amount of seating for the space, and the service is good.

One note: there are no restrooms located in the lounge area, which isn’t surprising given its size. So plan to go either before or after your visit, especially if you’re a solo traveler without anyone to watch your things.
At the moment, the small size of the Oaxaca Lounge isn’t limiting access. It can hold perhaps 40 people.

When I first arrived before my flight (around 10:30 am), there was only one person there.

More people started to arrive as my flight time approached, but there was still space left, despite multiple flights departing around the same time.
The lounge has a couple of TVs and a screen showing departures.

The airport lounge also has windows overlooking the runway (though they have shading). You can watch your incoming plane land.

The staff were also in the process of decorating the lounge for Mexican Independence Day.
Oaxaca Airport Lounge Food And Drink
At first, I thought the food offering at the Oaxaca Airport Lounge was limited. I spotted some pastries, fruit, toast, and cereal, but nothing else.

However, I then realized that the other person in the lounge had been brought some scrambled eggs and chilaquiles.

The size and layout of the lounge mean there isn’t room for a hot food buffet, but you can get dishes made to order, which is even better. One of the staff members came over and asked if I wanted anything. In addition to the items I mentioned, the breakfast menu included quesadillas.
As far as drinks, there’s coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages, including my beloved Mexican Orange Fanta.

There’s also self-serve liquor, including mezcal, as well as beer.

Summary
The Lounge at Oaxaca Airport is not a bad place to wait for a flight. While it’s small, the staff are friendly and keep the place clean and well-stocked.
While the landside location is one negative, getting through security is quick. If you’re feeling confident, you could potentially sit in the lounge until you see your incoming plane arrive, then head toward the gates. The gate area can get crowded if multiple flights depart around the same time, so the lounge is much more pleasant.
