In my experience, beer quality declines as you head further south in Italy. The best breweries are primarily in the northern parts of the country. While there are a few decent bars with craft beer in Naples, the city is otherwise limited as far as breweries and taprooms go.
The Best Craft Beer Bars in Naples
Mosto – Birra Artigianale & Distillati
One of the coolest craft beer bars in Naples is Mosto. More accurately, several of the coolest craft beer bars in Naples are Mosto, as a few locations are scattered around the city.
I knew it would be a fun place as soon as we walked into the Chiaia location of Mosto, singing along to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” as we passed through the doorway.
The good music continued with The Clash, The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Dolly Parton, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and more.
The inside space is pretty small, with just a few stools, so most people drink outside in the alleyway. That said, there’s still a good amount of beer inside these walls.

There are 10 taps (three of which were from Piccolo Birrificio Clandestino when I visited) and a fridge with cans from many Italian craft breweries. Another fridge had some larger bottles like Cantillon.
I enjoyed a can of Mango Io from Birrificio WAR and some popcorn. There is also a full bar for those who aren’t into beer. A TV was showing football.
The Vomero Merliani location also offers cheeseburgers.

Il Birraiuolo
Il Birraiuolo is a lovely intimate beer bar on a street with other small bars just north of Dante Metro station.
There isn’t a massive beer selection; however, it’s clearly well-curated. It’s helpful that all fridge beers are also lined up on shelves for easier viewing.
The bar has six taps, one cask, and a few fridges. The fridges have local beers plus bottled sours and farmhouse ales from breweries such as Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen. There’s also cider and kombucha.
Since it was finally porter weather, I enjoyed a cask porter from local brewery Stimalti.
There are a few small board and card games available, plus a couple of TVs showing basketball and football.

Frank Malone Pub & Brewstore
Frank Malone is a beer bar and bottle shop located in Vomero.
They have over 100 beers available, as well as a full bar food menu.
The pub hosts special events, and shows live sports on TV, including Napoli matches and the NFL.
In addition to takeaway sales, online shopping is also available.

Versa
Versa is a cool Naples bar with a good selection of beer.
The multilevel bar has a downstairs lounge with plentiful benches and leather-padded seating. The venue also hosts DJs.
Versa’s beer selection includes 18 taps, two casks, and a couple of small fridges. Resident beers are from PBN – Piccolo Birrificio Napoletano.
If you want to do a bit of a bar crawl, it’s right next to the excellent Naples cocktail bar, Archeobar, which specializes in negronis.

OAK Napoli Wine And Craft Beer
Just south of Dante Metro station is another area packed with excellent bars.
OAK Napoli Vino e Birra Artiginale is one of the most popular, drawing in a nice mix of people who love beer and wine.
The beer selection includes six taps, a cask, and a chalkboard listing many bottles and cans. The wine selection focuses on natural and biodynamic wine.
With an eclectic mix of music and a friendly atmosphere, it’s a great place to hang out.

Blind Pig – Hideout Drinkery
Right around the corner from OAK Napoli is another nice place for beer, wine, and cocktails.
The tiny Blind Pig – Hideout Drinkery has just three tables inside but a few more outside.
There are four taps, then a list of about 30 bottles and cans. The selection includes alcohol-free and gluten-free options.
Small board games like Scrabble, Battleship, and Connect Four are available if you want something to do, plus there’s a fun, upbeat mix of music.

Beer Bar
One of my favorite things to do in Naples is wander the Centro Storico’s narrow alleyways. These residential areas are the lifeblood of the city.
The appropriately named Beer Bar is a small Centro Storico spot with a nice patio on a square across the street.
In addition to a few taps, they have a fridge stocked with Italian craft beers, including a bunch from brewery Granda.
Drinks come with free snack baskets, but other food is also available.
While many other Naples beer bars are only open in the evenings, Beer Bar is open all day, including late, making it a nice option for a break for a beer or 3 Euro Aperol Spritz.

Hoppy Ending
Hoppy Ending is a beer and skate shop in the Naples neighborhood of Vomero.
The beer bar has six taps, plus fridges with a nice selection of craft beer from Italy and beyond.

Jokr Craft Beer Pub
Jokr Craft Beer Pub is a solid neighborhood pub in Vomero.
In addition to four taps and a few dozen bottles and cans (with a particular emphasis on sour beers), the pub also serves panini, burgers, fried starters, and desserts.

Birrificio Artigianale Napoletano
I spotted this Naples brewery at a few local beer bars and restaurants.
Birrificio Artigianale Napoletano produced the first beer brewed with the sun in Naples. I enjoyed the Ambrata at Antica Pizzeria Port’Alba Antichissima Pizzeria Port’Alba 1738, one of my recommendations for the best pizza in Naples.
