Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, is first and foremost a sherry and wine town. That’s not surprising considering all of the excellent local production. Couple that with the general rule that beer gets less adventurous the further south you go in Europe, and it’s understandable that there’s not a ton of places to drink craft beer in Jerez. Although I spent much of my time in Jerez tasting sherry, there were a few beer places I enjoyed. Here are my favorite Jerez craft beer bars.

The Best Craft Beer In Jerez
Birrópolis Craft Beers & Local Wines
Birrópolis Craft Beers & Local Wines is the newest craft beer bar in Jerez. It’s located in a convenient spot right in the center of Jerez.
The people running it formerly ran La Bodega del Lúpulo Craft Beers Cervecería, which had been the best place for great beer in Jerez, even though it was a bit outside of the city center in a residential area. Unfortunately, it closed in 2025.
While I haven’t been to Birrópolis yet, between its great reviews and my great experience at the old La Bodega del Lúpulo Craft Beers Cervecería, I can safely say it’s also a top beer bar.

Birrópolis has 12 rotating beer taps, plus fridges that include tons of awesome beers from around Spain, Belgium, and Germany. They also offer Pilsner Urquell on tap.

A snack-focused food menu includes cheese plates, tapas, and montaditos.

La Librería Rock Bar
La Librería Rock Bar is one of my favorite bars in Jerez. The beer selection isn’t huge, but it’s a fun place to hang out.

While there are drinks, of course, the welcoming atmosphere and plenty of things to do bring people back. As the bar’s motto states, it’s a “safe space with no shitty attitudes.”

As you might expect from the bar name, there are shelves filled with books. There’s also an arcade machine and a foosball table. Graffiti, stickers, and posters cover the walls and ceiling. Rock, including indie, punk, and metal, plays on the sound system. I love it.

In addition to a rotating can selection of about half a dozen beers from great Spanish craft breweries, there are a few other beers, plus cocktails and sherry. This is Jerez, of course.

Los Dos Deditos Cervecería Internacional
Los Dos Deditos Cervecería Internacional is a proudly international beer bar that’s been around since 1987.

In addition to a large Belgian selection, there’s also some German, British, Spanish, and American beer available.
I don’t usually drink American beer when I’m traveling, unless I have a special reason to do so. I try to drink local as much as possible.
However, once I spotted Anchor Porter on their beer list, I knew I had to have one. It’s a taste of home. Anchor Brewing in San Francisco had closed down a few months prior, making Los Dos Deditos Cervecería Internacional one of the last places in the world to have any Anchor beers.

I enjoyed a few beers and some popcorn while watching sports on TV and listening to the great soundtrack of 80s rock, The Beatles, Queen, CCR, and more.

La Frontera De Jerez
La Frontera De Jerez occupies a prominent space on Plaza de la Asunción. As a result, it has a fantastic patio space in addition to a few tables inside.
A sign reads, “All you need is beer,” but the bar does also serve tapas, including croquettes and empanadas.

The beer selection is only partially craft, but it’s not bad. There are eight beer taps, plus a few scattered fridges with a small craft beer selection from nearby Andalusian breweries. The selection isn’t always particularly amazing, but it’s something to scratch the itch.

Their house lager is Frontera by Cervezas Blanca y Verde, which I enjoyed while listening to some Spanish indie rock and pop punk that won me over for sure.

Sadly, there are a few Jerez craft beer bars and breweries that have closed. In addition to the aforementioned La Bodega del Lúpulo Craft Beers Cervecería, Cervezas La Pepa is also closed.
Cervecería Gorila is still open, but it has changed ownership. Based on Untappd check-ins, before the sale, they used to brew their own beer in addition to offering a craft selection. However, they haven’t had any good check-ins since 2022, so you can skip it.
There was a sherry-focused brewery called 15&30 that was open for a time. Perhaps someone else will give something similar another shot, as it’s an interesting concept that would connect beer to the region’s beloved drink.
