This kicks off a new series of recurring posts featuring my photography on Instagram. Every month, I’ll post my favorite photos that I have taken and posted on Instagram, along with a quick description giving a bit more background.
This first photo was taken in the Sacramento, California Amtrak station. For some reason, the clock on one side of the platform was running about 15 minutes ahead of the other, which is not the best plan for trying to get trains and passengers trying to run on schedule.
The above photo was taken at GoatHouse Brewing in Lincoln, California. They’re a new brewery built on a farm, which enables them to create beers that incorporate their homegrown ingredients such as hops and honey. I’ve had fresh hop beers before, and they’re one of my favorite styles. Fresh hops grown and brewed right at the same location take it to a whole other level. I sampled 8 beers that day, ranging from pale ales to imperial brown stout.
This photo was taken from a bus traveling across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco to Sausalito. I like the blur of the walkers against the city in focus behind them at sunset.
I love tapas. I’ve been to a couple of tapas restaurants in San Francisco, but hadn’t been overly impressed, since many of them try to be overly creative rather than making more authentic Spanish cuisine. This photo was taken at Canela Bistro Bar, which is my new favorite tapas spot in the city. The menu featured traditional tapas such as croquetas with jamón, meats, cheeses, olives, and churros with chocolate (as seen in this photo), along with Spanish-inspired dishes such as the tres leches bread pudding pictured in the background.
Our final featured photo from November is from Little Skillet, an offshoot of Farmer Brown in San Francisco. Their menu features classic soul food, such as this fried chicken and waffles combo with a side of mac and cheese and cornbread. Delicious.
