Sun-soaked Málaga, Spain is a great city, with plenty of history, including the beautiful Alcazaba, Castillo de Gibralfaro, & cathedral. Thanks to Málaga‘s lovely weather, you can drink outside pretty much year-round, which is always a plus in my book. In recent years, the city has seen more and more craft beer places open up, all of which are friendly to both locals & visitors. Here are 14 great places for craft beer in Málaga, including beer bars, taprooms, breweries, and bottle shops.

The Best Craft Beer Bars in Málaga, Spain

Central Beers Craft Beer

Central Beers Craft Beer is an excellent beer bar in the historic old center of Málaga. Compared to some city center bars, it has lots of space. It also has a fun atmosphere, with good 1950s & rockabilly music that adds to the vibe, plus sports on TV. It’s one of those places where you can tell by the brewery logos on the wall that they know good beer.

Central Beers has a great selection of craft beer including 15 taps and 150+ bottles. For the tap selection, about half are from Spain. Amongst the bottle selection, there is a nice mix from Belgium in particular, plus local breweries such as 3 Monos & Bonvivant. The list is rounded out with beers from the rest of Europe and the United States.

The bar also has a full food menu specializing in tapas, burgers, salads, and desserts.

About half of their taps are Spanish, from breweries such as Basqueland & Dougall’s, along with a nice portion of their bottle & can list. There is also a good selection of Belgian beers, as well as more beer from around Europe and the United States.

Located in trendy Soho, El Rincón Del Cervecero has 8 taps, plus over 400 bottles. The printed menu was helpful for browsing the massive selection, which includes lots of German & Belgian beers, but also over 100 different varieties from Spain.

Each beer is paired with a small tapas snack. One of their house beers, a red IPA, came with some potato chips & chorizo, while an imperial stout came with a piece of chocolate. In both cases, the food pairing was perfect, demonstrating how they know their beers & flavors.

La Madriguera Craft Beer

La Madriguera is a beer bar in the historic center of Málaga that strives to impress with both its beer selection & food menu. The bar was founded by two brothers who each share their passion for good beer & good food.

The bar is a small spot, so the name is perfect. La Madriguera means “burrow” or “rabbit hole” in Spanish. It works on multiple levels, since it’s like a burrow, but also you can dive into the beer selection & find yourself down a rabbit hole.

The idea for 3 Monos Craft Beer was started back in 2013 by a group of friends who wanted to open a brewery that focused on experimental beers & natural ingredients. The taproom & brewery is located far outside the central areas, so it has limited hours, but 3 Monos can be found at many of Málaga’s craft beer bars.

Bonvivant Beer

Bonvivant Beer is another Málaga brewery whose beer can be found all over the city. However, their taproom is also worth traveling to.
