Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, gets hot, especially during the summer months. If you’ve had enough of the hot Andalusian sun and need a cool break, there are a few great places for ice cream in Jerez. Here are my favorite Jerez ice cream shops. Read on for the best shops, including one prominent heladería that you should avoid!

The Best Ice Cream In Jerez
Heladeria Margarita La Fresca Jerez
Most of these ice cream shops are located within a block or two of each other in the Jerez city center, which I have unofficially dubbed “The Ice Cream District.” This makes it convenient to stop in for a scoop or two on your way to or from a sherry tasting.
My favorite ice cream shop in Jerez is more accurately a gelato shop. Heladeria Margarita La Fresca Jerez easily has the creamiest, most inventively flavored treats in the city.

The artisanal gelato at Heladeria Margarita La Fresca Jerez comes in a variety of unique flavors, many of which are based on desserts, including local favorites.

I enjoyed the San Marcos cake, Argentinian milk caramel, and Yaya’s cake.

Between the excellent gelato, smoothies, frappuccinos, and other coffee drinks, Heladeria Margarita La Fresca Jerez is popular. It can get crowded, but it’s worth the wait.

Heladería Soler
Heladería Soler is the oldest ice cream maker in Jerez, having been in business since 1938.

There are two locations, one near the other ice cream shops near Plaza del Arenal, and another near Plaza Aladro and Plaza del Mamelón.
The locations of both shops make it convenient to buy some ice cream and then go sit in the nearby plaza.
In addition to ice cream, their shops also sell cakes, pastries, and waffles (which you can top with ice cream and sauce). There’s even a small bar inside.
I liked the original flavors at Heladería Soler. Some of the more creative offerings include Donut, Happy Hippo, and Pedro Ximenez sherry with raisins.

On my first visit, I had one scoop of Goat Cheese with Fig, and one of Lemon Pie.

On my visit to their other location, I enjoyed the Tocino de Cielo, based on a famous local dessert, along with the Chocolate Orange.

La Rosa de Oro – Pasteleria & Confiteria
La Rosa de Oro – Pasteleria & Confiteria is another ice cream shop near Plaza del Arenal in Jerez.

The shop is busiest for its pastries and desserts, such as Roscón de Reyes, but they also sell ice cream.
Operating hours can be sporadic.

There is one other ice cream shop in Jerez that’s located right near the others in the city center. It’s called Heladería La Polar, and based on the reviews, avoid it!
It has a 2.7 rating on Google, which is impressively bad. There’s definitely no need to go there when these other Jerez heladerías are located within a block.
