Like neighboring Jerez, Cádiz, Spain, is first and foremost a sherry and wine town. That’s not surprising, considering the excellent local production of drinks made from grapes. As a result, it’s understandable that there are not a ton of places to drink craft beer in Cádiz. Here are my favorite Cádiz craft beer bars.
One way to get a nice introduction to Cádiz is to take a tour. Check out these excellent tour options & book now!
The Best Craft Beer In Cádiz
Cervecería La Barra
Cervecería La Barra is located right on Plaza de San Juan de Dios, a major plaza in Cádiz.

As one might expect, there’s tons of outside seating, which is where you can find most patrons on sunny days.
The popular spot has a small tap list with a few craft options, but there’s a decent selection of cans and bottles if you take the time to look.
Book your hotel in Cádiz now!Outside, there’s a sign listing a few craft beer options, but head inside, and there are even more options lined up along the bar.

There’s a fridge in the back, but it’s not really in a public part of the bar, so you just kind of have to hunt around to see what they’ve got.
One of the beers I’d tried to select from the lineup was actually out of stock, but the bartender helpfully returned with a couple of other similar beers for me to select from.

Given Cervecería La Barra’s spot on the square, it would be easy to just cater to the masses, but not only do they have a nice beer selection, they’re proud to have it.
The walls are covered in beer label stickers, and they feature beer from breweries all over Spain, such as Basqueland, La Quince, SOMA, Caleya, and Dougall’s.
But for those who aren’t into craft beer, there’s also a full bar.

The Cabin Beer Bar
The Cabin Beer Bar has a lovely outside patio with spaces for shade and sun depending on what you want at a particular time of day.

You can sit outside and listen to church bells ringing across the street or sit inside and watch sports on TV.
The bar has 8 beer taps, though most aren’t craft. There are also fridges with bottles of Andalusian, other Spanish, and international beers, including lots of Belgians. Alcohol-free and gluten-free beers are also available.

The Cabin Beer Bar has the best food of any beer bar in Cádiz. With a kitchen that’s open all day, the menu of burgers, nachos, meat, salads, crepes, sandwiches, and desserts should cover whatever you desire.
While they claim to have the best nachos in town, I opted for a burger. The Smash Trufada was excellent.

The fried egg and truffle sauce helped make it a mess, and it wasn’t dry and overcooked like most burgers in Europe.

Estrella Galicia La Cervecería del Mercado 118
The chaotic Mercado Central de Abastos de Cádiz is the beating heart of the city.
One of the most popular market stalls is Estrella Galicia La Cervecería del Mercado 118.

While the name includes that of one of Spain’s most famous macrobrewers, don’t let it fool you.

The stand also has a good selection of craft beer from Spain and beyond (though not the 118 that I first thought – that’s the stall number).

There are only a few tables, so most people stand around enjoying cheap beer while enjoying food from elsewhere in the market (though olives and potato chips are also available for purchase at the stall).

Woodstock Bar – Cádiz
Woodstock Bar is named for the famed Woodstock music festival, so there are plenty of music posters and photos covering the walls. The bar also plays live music in addition to showing sports such as football on TVs.

In addition to being named for Woodstock, the bar is also covered in wood. Think wood floors, wood panel on the wall, and a long wood bar that’s clearly had a lot of drinks spilled on it over the course of the 30+ years the place has been operating.

The beer selection isn’t huge (just a few taps and a small list of bottles, including some Belgian options), but it’s a fun place to hang out.

In addition to the aforementioned entertainment, there’s also pool and foosball.
