After a couple of weeks of teasing via a contest, Starwood Preferred Guest has finally opened registration for their Fall 2016 promo called More For You. The promo is simple: earn double points on weekday stays of two nights or longer, or earn triple points on weekend stays of two nights or longer. The promotion runs from September 12th – December 18th, 2016, and you must preregister, so be sure to do that now so you don’t miss out on your bonus SPG points.
Registration: Starwood Preferred Guest® Members must register online at spg.com/moreforyou by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), November 30, 2016. Registered Members can earn bonus Starpoints® on eligible stays between September 12, 2016, and December 18, 2016 (the “Promotion Period”), at participating SPG® hotels and resorts. A list of participating hotels and resorts can be found at spg.com/moreforyou and is subject to change.
Earning: Registered Members will earn double Starpoints at participating hotels and resorts on eligible stays of two or more nights or triple Starpoints on eligible stays of two or more nights that include a Friday or Saturday night, except in the Middle East where Members will be awarded triple Starpoints for eligible stays of two or more nights that include a Thursday or Friday night. Participating properties in the following select locations will award triple Starpoints for eligible stays of two or more nights that include a Thursday or Friday night: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. To view the complete list of hotels and resorts participating in the promotion, visit spg.com/moreforyou. Members who earn double Starpoints will earn an additional two (2) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (for a total of 4 (four) Starpoints per dollar). Members will earn an additional four (4) Starpoints per eligible US$1 spent (a total of six (6) Starpoints per dollar) on eligible triple-Starpoint stays. Elite-level extra Starpoints earnings and other bonuses will not be doubled or tripled. Only the base two-Starpoints-per-dollar earnings are doubled or tripled. There is no limit on the number of bonus Starpoints that can be earned during the Promotion Period. Offer is eligible with other Starpoints promotions; however, each offer will award bonus Starpoints independently of each other, and offers are not combinable.
Bonusing: Double and triple Starpoints will post to the registered Member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.
Eligible stays and nights: An eligible stay is defined as two or more consecutive nights paying an eligible rate in the same hotel, regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur, and posting to the Member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account. An eligible night is defined as at least one night paying an eligible rate in the Promotion Period. An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. A listing of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and a description of eligible stays and eligible rates can be found at spg.com under the program terms and conditions. See Section 2.1 for the complete definition of eligible rates. Note that certain prepaid room reservations — such as when the booking is made through a third party, including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com — are not considered eligible rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings. Stays must be booked through any Starpoints-eligible channel, which includes a travel professional who books through those channels or the GDS.
Double or triple points seem to be pretty standard quarterly bonuses for most hotel programs these days, but make sure you sign up if you plan on staying at any participating Starwood properties in the coming months.
