Everyone hates baggage fees, but there comes a point where you have to just suck it up and pay them. Singer James McElvar of British boyband Rewind found this out the hard way, after he collapsed on an EasyJet flight from London Stansted to Glasgow, Scotland.
McElvar had too much carry-on luggage with him and was presented with 2 options: pay £45, or somehow figure out how to get rid of a bag.
According to The Sun, McElvar said: “The woman said either one bag went in the hold or we weren’t getting on. The rest of the band had gone through so I couldn’t give them any of the clothes. I was told I’d either have to pay a £45 fee to get it on the plane, get the flight the next morning, bin the clothes or wear them.”
The singer chose the last option, which ended up being a mistake. Wearing an entire suitcase of clothes is not a great idea for one’s health, and despite having taken off all the excess clothes once he was on the plane, McElvar collapsed due to heat exhaustion. He was treated by a off-duty paramedic, and according to Rewind’s Twitter feed, is now fine.
For everyone asking James is ok. He is being looked after in hospital now back home safe in Glasgow. He sends you all his love
