Get 70,000 bonus points with the Chase Ink Plus Business Card

This post has partner links that I may receive compensation for at no cost to you. Thank you!

Looking for a way to earn some miles for free travel? For a limited time (until October 20, 2014), Chase is offering 70,000 bonus points for signing up for their Ink Plus Business credit card. All you have to do to earn the bonus points is spend $5,000 on the card within 3 months of the card being approved.

The Visa card carries a $95 annual fee, but offers some unique point earning opportunities. Additionally, the card has no foreign transaction fees, which comes in handy when traveling overseas. Click here to learn more about the card and apply.

Don’t have a business? You might do and not realize it. Here’s a post from Million Mile Secrets outlining how business cards can be used by many people, even those without formal businesses, as well as another on how to complete a business card application.

There are a lot of great resources out there on the benefits of this card as well as what the points can be used for, so I won’t go into all of those details, but here is a key rundown:

Chase Ink Plus Business Card features:

  • Earn 5X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services each account anniversary year
  • Earn 2X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel each account anniversary year
  • Earn 1 point per $1 on all other purchases and points do not expire
  • 1:1 point transfer to popular frequent travel programs with no transfer fee

Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer partners:

  • Amtrak Guest Rewards®
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Hyatt Gold Passport®
  • Korean Air SKYPASS
  • Marriott Rewards®
  • IHG® Rewards Club
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards®
  • The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®
  • United MileagePlus®
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Personally, I would transfer the points to another partner in order to maximize their value, but even if you choose to redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards directly, 70,000 points are worth $875 in free travel. Not bad if you’re planning on spending $5000 in the next 3 months anyway!

I signed up for this card a while back, but it’s one of the few cards that I am willing to pay the annual fee for, since I still put all of my cell phone and cable TV bills on it thanks to the 5x earning on these purchases. Example: If you have $200 in utility spend each month, you will earn 1,000 points per month, or 12,000 points per year, which to me is well worth $95.

In full disclosure, if you apply and are approved through my link, I will also receive 10,000 bonus points. If you do decide to apply, thank you in advance for supporting my site and my travels!

If you have any questions about the card, you can contact Chase, or leave them in the comments and I can also help point you in the right direction.

Note: This post should not be construed as financial advice, and ultimately you are responsible for determining whether or not this card is right for you.
