Air New Zealand has released their newest inflight safety video titled “A Fantastical Journey”, starring Katie Holmes (“The Gift”, “Dawson’s Creek”) & Cuba Gooding Jr (“The People vs. OJ Simpson”, “Jerry Maguire”). It also features music from New Zealand’s Gin Wigmore. The video has an “Alice In Wonderland” theme. Like previous inflight safety videos from Air New Zealand, it takes viewers on a tour of many famous sights in New Zealand.
The locations featured include Southern Alps, Otago – including Dunedin and the Moeraki Boulders, the Conway River in Canterbury, Wellington, Mt. Taranaki, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua, Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel, Tolaga Bay north of Gisborne, White Island, and the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Air New Zealand’s inflight safety videos have always shown of the beauty of the country, but this time they took things even further. They showed off more places & even labeled them so potential visitors know where to go.

Using video of a smoking volcanic White Island was a nice way to tie safety to showing off New Zealand, as are the stars & the safety lighting.
Cuba Gooding Jr told Air New Zealand, “They make you laugh, smile and pay a little bit more attention. I’ve also enjoyed working with Katie Holmes and Kiwi artist Gin Wigmore. Her voice is enchanting and soothing, exactly what you need for a safety video!”
The one thing the video lacks is Cuba Gooding Jr sprinting through an airport to make a flight.
