If you’re going to Everglades National Park, you’re quite aware of the dangers on the ground. It comes with the territory when you’re in a unique swamp ecosystem. Not content with animals that can kill you from the water, nature has expanded its terror from a ground offensive of alligators and snakes to an air assault in the form of vultures.
Vultures have been attacking parked cars, stripping rubber, windshield wipers, and other parts from them while visitors are away

When you think of Maine, you think of lobsters and boats. Capt. Brenda Thomas of the Isaac H. Evans, a Maine-based ship, wants you to think of bacon as well.
From September 23rd through September 27th, the schooner will sail the coast of Maine, while passengers gorge themselves on bacony goodness.
According to the Isaac H. Evans website:

Nearly every day, we hear a story about TSA screenings gone awry. But what about all of the complaints that don’t make the news? Plenty of travelers have faced what they believe to be infringements of their rights, yet most complaints go unreported.
As a result, The Sikh Coalition has developed a smartphone app called FlyRights to make it easier for

People often joke about how the TSA will eventually force passengers to strip off their clothes before boarding a flight. One man, John E. Brennan got a head start on that by getting naked at Portland International Airport as he tried to clear screening before heading to San Jose on Alaska Airlines.
Brennan claimed that he is a frequent flier, and the TSA agents were harassing him. The screeners asked him to put his clothes back on, but he

Look, I get it. It sucks that not all airplane seats have electrical outlets, and the ones that do typically require plug adapters. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s a good idea to leave your phone in the lavatory to charge instead.
That’s what one passenger did on a Delta flight from Istanbul to New York (JFK) today. The flight crew became concerned about the “suspicious device” that had been plugged into the shaver

In-flight meals never seem quite as fresh as they should, but Qantas’ new offering should solve that problem.
On a recent flight from LAX to Melbourne, passenger Victoria Cleven opened up a package of trail mix only to find that rather than just the nuts she expected, it was also filled with live maggots.
She didn’t notice this until she had already eaten some of the contents and something had tasted a bit off. Cleven told the Melbourne Herald Sun:

This morning, JetBlue Flight 191 from New York to Las Vegas was forced to make an emergency landing in Amarillo, Texas after an in-flight incident involving the captain.
According to witnesses, the co-pilot noticed the captain was behaving erratically, then locked the captain out of the cockpit after he left to use the restroom. As he tried to re-enter but was unable to, the captain then screamed that there was a bomb on board, and also yelled about Iran and

Given that San Francisco-based Virgin America is positioning itself as a trendier airline focusing on younger travelers, it was only a matter of time that they would make their way to Portland, Oregon.
I’m particularly excited about these new flights, since airfares from SFO to PDX are typically quite expensive, especially when compared to flying to Seattle. Hopefully the new routes from

Some airline passengers get to sit near screaming babies or people who sound like they have the plague. Other passengers get to sit near penguins. Life just isn’t fair, is it?
On a recent Delta flight from San Antonio to Atlanta, first class passengers were treated to a visit from some well-dressed guests. Two penguins from Sea World were seated in their cabin, and their handler let them loose for a while once the plane was in the

An American Airlines flight from Dallas to Chicago was sent back to its gate earlier today after a flight attendant lost it and started yelling on the intercom that the plane was going to crash.
According to Joe Tone of the Dallas Observer:
“We are not taking off,” she said, according to the passengers. “We’re having technical difficulties. We are heading back to the gate.”
Another flight attendant came on and assured the passengers: Yes, actually, we are taking
